I unknowingly began the process of writing this book during my own time of self-discovery. I was learning about being kind to myself, and really feeling the need to be grounded in who I am. I heard of people writing themselves notes of encouragement, and I liked that idea. One morning, I took out a pad of sticky notes and wrote one affirmation on each sheet. I placed the stack in my bathroom, knowing that was where I would see it several times a day. Each morning, I took the sticky note from the top and moved it to the bottom of the pile, revealing a new message for the new day. I memorized the message and pondered it throughout the day. After about two years, I decided that I should start journaling about my experiences with each message. Roughly six months after that, I decided I would like to share my thoughts and experiences with others, so I created this book.
Affirmations for Personal Growth offers readers something that they are craving—the chance to slow down, be present, and be real. We are constantly bombarded with information and rarely take time to process what is coming at us, how it impacts us, and what we should do in response. This book has the ability to help people reconnect with who they are and what matters to them.
